GeoGearHeadsBrawny Bear joins us for the one-hundred twenty-first edition of the GeoGearHeads to discuss Geowoodstock XII. The main event (GC4BGXM) takes place May 24, 2014, 9AM to 5PM along side the "Missouri River Irish Festival" in Historic St. Charles. Many other events surround Geowoodstock and some of those are available on the "Event Schedule" page. In the local spirit of volunteering and giving (referenced in this article on the Huffington Post) the committee choose to support the Wounded Warrior Project this year. Brawny Bear also suggests people read "Mega Events: A Survival Guide" by debaere (especially if this is their first Mega-Event).

GeoGearHeadsdebaere returns with talk with The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 for the one-hundred nineteenth edition of the GeoGearHeads to tackle several subjects. Golfer89 emailed about contacting Geocachers through Geocaching.com with accounts that haven't been validated. DuneBuddy asked about caching without a data connection. debaere shared his experience with the Garmin Monterra which he reviewed on his blog. He also shared a fact about GPS from Gizmodo. They then talked about CNet's "Meet the next-gen USB cable that could sweep away all others" article and the promise of the new cable format. Wet_Coaster also asked a couple questions; one about printed maps and the other about supplies carried when caching. They wrapped about with a little tidbit about "GEOCACHE" being added to Scrabble.
