GeoGearHeadsFor the one-hundred seventy-eighth edition of the GeoGearHeads we talk again about Opencaching North America. DudleyGrunt and NativTxn last talked with The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 about the service on "GGH125: Opencaching North America." The discussion really started with a look at the cache types on the service, especially the guest book, dead drop, BIT Cache, and challenges. They also talked about using GeoKrety and Pathtags with the service. You can find Opencaching North America on Google+, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. They also have articles on their blog for the entire community.

DarrylW4 was recently visited by scottberks and shortyknits. While at the Metro Detroit GeoGearHead Studios he got them to record a bonus show available to everyone about planning (thanks to the Patrons for making the bonus show possible).

Congratulations to JR and Juju for submitting the winning response for this week's question. Thanks to CoinsAndPins.com for their donation of this week's gift!

GeoGearHeadsIt's a show full of feedback and Geocaching discussion for the one-hundred seventy-seventh edition of the GeoGearHeads. Michael Miller of the "Cache and Release" podcast attempted to join The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 this week, but due to some issues with the Google+ Hangout On Air wasn't able to participate much. The feedback started with some from Limax about Waterfield Designs bags and the new Geocaching.com messaging service. The panel took a short detour into the Geocaching.com six souvenirs for the summer. Nighthawk700 tipped us off to the name change of the official Geocaching.com app to "Geocaching Backcountry." Then both Jennifer of TeamAJK and Astronut shared information about a new centimeter accurate positioning system in development. The Live Q&A was also active with feedback from the live viewers (thanks to everyone who contributed).

Congratulations to Team_Pugatch for submitting the winning response for this week's question, and to afishoutawater for winning the live prize. Thanks to CoinsAndPins.com for their donation of this week's gifts!

GeoGearHeadsDanno of Team_Pugatch returned to talk with The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 about gear for your bicycle for the one-hundred seventy-sixth edition of the GeoGearHeads. Danno talked a little about his "Le Tour de SoPo" (GC5T3C) multicache designed to be done by bike. CP590 also mentioned in the Live Q&A that orienteering is still a Scouting Merit Badge. Some of the gear mentioned on the show included;

Misha email looking for feedback on fellow Geocachers who might be riding tadpole-style trikes (he home built his but they're also available from Utah Trikes and other stores).

Congratulations to Misha for submitting the winning response for this week's question. Thanks to CoinsAndPins.com for their donation of this week's gift! Danno also provided a live prize which went to adamwarren.

GeoGearHeadschildofatom talks about the process of solving a puzzle geocache for the one-hundred seventy-fifth edition of the GeoGearHeads. He's the author of the "How To Puzzle Cache" book but recommends puzzle geocachers also read "Omniglot" for alphabets and writing systems and "Rumkin.com" for codes and ciphers. He suggests using "TinEye" and "Google Images" for reverse image searches.

GeoGearHeadsThe geocachingvlogger, scottberks, The Bad Cop, and DarrylW4 joined up for the one-hundred seventy-fourth edition of the GeoGearHeads. The show kicked of with extensive discussion about the Challenge Cache Submissions Moratorium. Geocaching.com is looking for input through May 12th from the Geocaching community which will inform a survey coming out later, which will in turn influence the future of Challenge Caches on Geocaching.com. Nighthawk700 tipped us off about a change in the Geocaching.com Live API as posted to the CacheSense and GSAK forums. As of May 18th access tokens expire every six days rather than lasting till revoked (authorizations are managed through the "Authorizations" tab from the "Account Settings"). Then lafitefl shared more about Kayak caching, along with TheWoodenRadio and his planning for "Geo-Boat #1" (GC54CB4). On mass transit caching we heard from Oh Beep! about the "Sidetracked" series of caches. Ulf also mentioned "24" (GC1AGHB) – a real time puzzle website paired with mass transit to create an unknown cache with more than a thousand favorite points. The Engadget article about lithium-ion batteries under a microscope was next. Finally the changes to the Munzee Code of Conduct were submitted by brilang.

Congratulations to LeofricH for submitting the winning response for this week's question, and to Dr. Cachenstein for winning the live prize. Thanks to CoinsAndPins.com for their donation of this week's gifts!
